1. Material

Plastic moulds (PP, PVC, ABS) cost the least-typically US$1-3 per piece. They last 500-1,500 cycles. Rubber moulds cost slightly more but produce better surface finishes. Steel moulds cost the most but deliver 80,000-120,000 cycles .

2. Size and Complexity

Larger pavers require more steel and longer machining time. Complex interlocking shapes demand precision CNC work, which adds to cost. Custom patterns and non-standard sizes increase price further.

3. Cavity Count

Single-cavity moulds cost less upfront but produce fewer pavers per cycle. Multi-cavity moulds (2, 3, 4, or 6 cavities) cost more but lower your cost per paver over time.

4. Steel Grade

UNIK uses Cr12MoV and 9CrSi alloy tool steel for industrial moulds. These premium steels resist wear and maintain dimensional accuracy across hundreds of thousands of cycles. Cheaper steels cost less but wear out faster .

5. Heat Treatment

Proper carburizing heat treatment achieves surface hardness of HRC59-62. This extends mould life significantly. Moulds without proper heat treatment crack at 30,000 cycles and must be replaced more often.

Custom mounting interfaces for specific machine brands (HESS, MASA, ZENITH, BESSER, TIGER, etc.) require additional engineering work. Custom patterns and unique interlocking features also add to cost.
