Carburizing and Nitriding Heat Treatment: Following initial machining, each mold surface undergoes specialized heat treatment. The carburizing process hardens the surface layer to HRC58-62 while maintaining core toughness at HRC35-40. This combination provides wear resistance where concrete impacts the cavity walls while maintaining the structural integrity to absorb vibration without cracking.
