What Is a Curb Mould?
A curb mould is a precision steel tool that mounts onto a block making machine to produce concrete curbstones. The mould cavity is shaped to create curbs with specific profiles - straight, tapered, rounded, or with drainage channels.
Unlike standard block moulds, curb moulds feature longer, narrower cavities that require careful ejection design to prevent damage to the finished product. The mould must maintain precise dimensions across its length to ensure curbs fit together properly during installation.
UNIK curb moulds are CNC machined from low-carbon alloy steel with carburizing heat treatment. The surface reaches HRC59-62, while the core stays tough to absorb vibration. This combination delivers long service life and consistent curb dimensions
Types of Curb Moulds

Key Technical Features
Advanced Heat Treatment – UNIK curb moulds undergo carburizing, nitriding, or carbonitriding treatment depending on application requirements. This creates a hard wear-resistant surface (HRC60-64) while maintaining a tough core that absorbs vibration without cracking.
Precision Machining – Using CNC milling and wire-cut EDM, UNIK achieves unilateral clearance between the presser foot and mould cavity of 0.2mm to 0.4mm. This tight tolerance prevents concrete leakage while allowing smooth demolding.
Chrome Plating for Rust Resistance – Chrome plating extends the mould lifespan beyond 600,000 cycles, making it suitable for high-volume production environments where corrosion from concrete moisture is a concern.
Modular Design – Press plates and wear parts are designed for easy replacement, simplifying maintenance and reducing production downtime.
Reinforced Construction – Strong tamper heads and adjustable liners manage up to 120 tons of compression, ensuring the mould maintains its shape under high-pressure production conditions.
