Five Documents You Must Verify When Choosing a Hollow Block Mould Exporter

Not every company that claims to be an "exporter" can successfully complete cross-border transactions. Based on experience shipping to dozens of countries, Fujian Unik Mould Technology Co., Ltd. recommends requesting and verifying the following five documents from your exporter.

1. Export qualification certificate
The business license should clearly state "mould manufacturing" and "import/export of goods". You can also ask for the company's Customs Registration Code.

2. Mill Test Certificate (MTC)
This is the factory test report for each batch of mould steel, showing the steel grade (e.g., 45#, Cr12MoV), chemical composition, and hardness range. Without an MTC, the steel quality cannot be traced.

3. Surface treatment confirmation
If you have ordered chrome-plated cavities, the exporter should provide a test report showing the chrome layer thickness (typically 0.05–0.10mm). Thin or missing chrome plating will significantly shorten mould life.

4. Anti-rust packaging photos/videos
A professional exporter will take photos of the rust prevention process for each mould before packing, as well as sealed container photos, to serve as evidence in case of a dispute.

5. Customs clearance document templates
Request draft templates for the commercial invoice, packing list, and bill of lading in advance. Check that the product description, HS code (hollow moulds are typically under 8480 or 7326), piece count, weight, and dimensions match your importing country's requirements.

Additional recommendation
For a first-time cooperation, ask for a "sample mould first" arrangement. Pay for a single-cavity sample mould, test it in your production, and then place a bulk order. Most professional exporters (including UNIK) support this method.
