Material selection is the first decision: 42CrMo for standard mixes, tool steel when the aggregate is highly abrasive. CNC machining creates smooth cavity surfaces that release concrete easily and resist wear. Each internal corner is radiused to spread stress rather than let it build up in a sharp angle. Heat treatment adds hardness to the working face while keeping the core flexible enough to handle vibration.
